Black Tamarin
Saguinus niger

Black tamarins inhabit terra firme and secondary forests in eastern Amazonian Brazil, moving rapidly through the lower and middle canopy. They feed mainly on fruit, flowers, nectar, insects, and small vertebrates, using agile leaps and quick hands to forage. A notable feature is their dark coat contrasted by pale, nearly bare facial skin and large ears.
