Masked Water-Tyrant
Fluvicola nengeta
Masked Water-Tyrants inhabit open wetlands, pond margins, flooded grassland, and quiet riverbanks. They hunt insects by watching from low perches and making quick flights to seize prey in the air or from the ground. Their bold black-and-white plumage makes the adult conspicuous as it flicks its tail and patrols waterside territory.
