Heath Snail
Xerotricha conspurcata

Adult heath snails inhabit dry open scrub and heath, sheltering in shaded crevices or beneath litter when conditions are hot. They feed by scraping algae, fungi, and decomposing vegetation with a radula. During prolonged dryness, an adult can seal itself in its shell and remain inactive until moisture returns.
