Blue Carpenter Bee
Xylocopa caerulea

Blue carpenter bees inhabit tropical woodland, forest edges, and gardens where flowering plants and dead wood are abundant. Adults drink nectar for energy and gather pollen to provision their larvae, often visiting large open flowers. Females excavate or reuse tunnels in wood for nesting, and their vivid metallic blue bodies make them especially distinctive among carpenter bees.
