Dusky Cockroach
Ectobius lapponicus
Adult dusky cockroaches inhabit sunny forest edges, heaths, and open patches with deep leaf litter across northern Europe. They are chiefly nocturnal scavengers, feeding on dead vegetation, fungi, and other detritus. Unlike many household cockroaches, this species is a wild outdoor insect, and the winged adults can make short flights.
