Yellow-headed Caracara
Milvago chimachima

Yellow-headed Caracaras inhabit open savannas, pastureland, forest edges, and wetlands across much of South America. They walk on the ground and perch conspicuously while searching for insects, carrion, small vertebrates, and ticks picked from livestock. Unlike many falcons, this species is an opportunistic ground-forager that often follows large mammals to find food.
