Lace-Weaver Spider
Amaurobius similis

The lace-weaver spider lives around gardens, woodland edges, walls, and sheds, usually in a woolly, irregular cribellate web. It is mostly nocturnal, waiting in a retreat at the web's edge before rushing out to seize trapped insects and other small arthropods. Its fuzzy silk is combed into fine strands rather than made with sticky glue, helping it entangle prey.
