Roan Antelope
Hippotragus equinus
Roan antelope inhabit African savannas, open woodlands, and grassy floodplains near reliable water. They graze mainly on medium-height grasses and may browse leaves when grass is scarce. Both sexes carry long backward-curving horns, which are used in defensive displays and forceful clashes.
