Red-shouldered Leaf Beetle
Chalepus sanguinicollis

Adult red-shouldered leaf beetles inhabit grassy vegetation and cultivated plants where suitable host leaves are available. They chew leaf tissue and can fly between feeding sites when disturbed. The beetle is named for the reddish coloring around its thorax, which contrasts with its darker wing covers.
