Araneus beipiaoensis
Araneus beipiaoensis

Araneus beipiaoensis is an orb-weaving spider known from northeastern China, where it occupies vegetation and other sheltered outdoor structures. It builds a circular capture web and waits near it to detect the vibrations of trapped small insects. Prey is subdued with a bite before being wrapped and fed upon. Like other orb weavers, it regularly renews or repairs its web to keep the silk strands effective.
