Pontia freyeri Caterpillar
Pontia freyeri (caterpillar)
This green caterpillar lives on cruciferous plants in open, dry country and cultivated fields. It feeds by chewing leaves, flower buds, and seedpods, often resting along stems where its color helps conceal it. When disturbed, it may remain still or drop from the plant on a silk thread. Its strong chewing jaws are its chief means of feeding and defense.
