Trichonephila tenuis
Trichonephila tenuis
Trichonephila tenuis is a slender orb-weaving spider found among shrubs and low vegetation in warm forested habitats. It builds a circular silk web and waits for the vibrations of trapped flying insects before rushing in to immobilize them. Its prey consists chiefly of small insects caught in the web. Like other orb-weavers, it relies more on silk and ambush than on chasing prey.
