Aedes (Finlaya) serafini Larva
Aedes (Finlaya) serafini (larva)

Larvae live in small, still freshwater pools and sheltered water-filled plant cavities. They hang near the surface to breathe, then wriggle downward when disturbed. They feed on algae, bacteria, and tiny organic particles filtered from the water. A breathing siphon at the rear allows them to take air from the surface.
