Cyprinus minutus Larva
Cyprinus minutus (larva)

Newly hatched larvae remain in quiet, shallow freshwater among submerged plants and sheltered margins. They drift and make short bursts through the water while absorbing their yolk reserves, then begin picking at tiny plankton. Their translucent bodies make them difficult to spot against sunlit water.
