Northeastern Pine Sawyer
Monochamus notatus

Adult Northeastern pine sawyers inhabit pine forests, especially areas with freshly fallen, cut, or fire-damaged trees. They feed on tender bark, twigs, and foliage and seek out suitable conifers for breeding. The adults are strong fliers, and males are notable for antennae that can extend well beyond their bodies.
