Golden Birdwing
Troides aeacus
Adult Golden Birdwings patrol sunny forest canopy gaps, river edges, gardens, and flowering clearings in South and Southeast Asia. They fly strongly between blossoms, feeding on nectar with a long coiled proboscis. Males are especially active in searching for females, while the large dark-and-gold wings make this butterfly one of the most conspicuous swallowtails in its range.
