Ash Gyro
Gyraulus parvus

Ash Gyro is a tiny freshwater ramshorn snail found among aquatic plants, stones, and leaf litter in ponds, slow streams, and marshy waters. It crawls over submerged surfaces while grazing on algae, biofilm, and decaying plant material with its rasping radula. When disturbed, it withdraws its soft body into its flat-coiled shell. Its air-breathing lung allows it to live in water with relatively low oxygen.
