Blood-Vein
Timandra comae

Adult Blood-Veins inhabit meadows, woodland margins, hedgerows, and gardens, usually flying from spring through autumn. They fly mostly at night and rest by day among grasses and low vegetation. Adults may visit flowers for nectar, while females seek out suitable dock and sorrel plants for egg-laying. Their pale wings are crossed by a reddish diagonal line that gives the species its common name.
