Barau's Petrel
Pterodroma baraui

Barau's Petrels spend most of the year over the tropical Indian Ocean, gliding low above waves and feeding mainly on squid, small fish, and crustaceans. They return to Réunion only to breed, nesting in burrows on steep, high-elevation slopes. Adults visit colonies chiefly at night, helping them avoid many aerial predators.
