Loggerhead Sea Turtle Juvenile
Caretta caretta (juvenile)

Juveniles often live in floating sargassum or coastal foraging grounds, shifting habitats as they grow. They eat crabs, mollusks, jellyfish, and other small marine animals, gradually developing the strong jaws needed for harder prey. Their shell offers much better protection than it did at hatching, though large fish and sharks can still threaten them. A notable fact is that juveniles may travel across entire ocean basins before returning to coastal waters.
