Oriental Magpie-Robin Nestling
Copsychus saularis (nestling)
Nestlings are still nest-bound but develop pinfeathers and stronger neck and leg muscles. They wait quietly between feeding visits, then beg intensely when an adult arrives with insects, larvae, or small arthropods. Their mottled, undeveloped plumage helps them blend into the shaded nest cup better than the crisp black-and-white adult plumage would.
