Green Frog
Lithobates clamitans

Adult Green Frogs are common along ponds, lakes, marshes, and slow streams, usually sitting at the water's edge with an escape route nearby. They are ambush predators that eat insects, spiders, snails, small fish, and sometimes smaller amphibians. When disturbed, they often leap into the water and dive to safety. Males are known for a resonant call often compared to a plucked banjo string.
