Horned Mason Bee Larva
Osmia cornuta (larva)

The larva lives sealed inside a narrow nest cavity such as a hollow reed, beetle tunnel, or crack in masonry. It feeds on a stored loaf of pollen and nectar provided by its mother and does not leave the cell to forage. Its soft body is protected by mud partitions between brood cells. After growing through several instars, it prepares to spin a cocoon for the next stage.
