Roe Deer Fawn
Capreolus capreolus (fawn)

A roe deer fawn spends its first weeks hidden in tall grass, bracken, or woodland edge cover while its mother feeds nearby. Its spotted coat breaks up its outline, and it relies on lying still rather than running when danger is close. It drinks milk at first and gradually begins nibbling tender leaves, shoots, and herbs. Newborn fawns have very little scent, an adaptation that helps them avoid detection by predators.
