Eurasian Jay Fledgling
Garrulus glandarius (fledgling)

A recently fledged juvenile that clambers and short-flutters through trees, hedgerows, and woodland edges while still being fed by its parents. It practices hopping, short flights, pecking, and food handling as it becomes more independent. Its diet shifts from mostly insects toward seeds, berries, and small animal prey when available. The fledgling's plumage is softer and less polished than an adult's, and its flight is less controlled.
