Common Redstart
Phoenicurus phoenicurus

The adult common redstart is a small migratory songbird of open woodland, parks, orchards, hedgerows, and gardens with suitable cavities for nesting. It hunts mainly by launching from a perch to snatch insects in the air or from the ground, and it may take berries outside the breeding season. Adults are agile fliers and will give alarm calls or swoop near intruders when defending a nest. Its most recognizable feature is the constantly quivering orange-red tail, especially bright in males.
