Common Earwig Nymph
Forficula auricularia (nymph)

Common earwig nymphs live in damp soil, leaf litter, and sheltered crevices, often remaining close to the nest early in life. They feed on soft plant matter, fungi, decaying material, and small invertebrates they can overpower or scavenge. Unlike many insects, young earwigs receive maternal care, with the female guarding eggs and newly hatched nymphs. Their pale, softer bodies darken and toughen as they molt toward adulthood.
