Garden Snail
Cornu aspersum

Adult garden snails live in moist gardens, hedgerows, fields, and disturbed habitats, becoming most active at night or after rain. They feed with a rasping radula on leaves, seedlings, fruit, fungi, and decaying plant material. When threatened or dry conditions arrive, they withdraw into the shell and can seal the opening with mucus. This species is a simultaneous hermaphrodite, with both mating partners capable of laying eggs.
