Jackson's Chameleon Neonate
Trioceros jacksonii (neonate)

Newborn Jackson's chameleons are tiny, independent climbers that cling to fine twigs and leafy cover soon after birth. They feed on very small insects and other minute arthropods, relying on stillness and camouflage to avoid being noticed. At this size, they are easily taken by birds, spiders, and larger lizards, so dense vegetation is especially important. Unlike many reptiles, Jackson's chameleons give birth to live young rather than laying eggs.
