Common House Spider
Parasteatoda tepidariorum

Adult common house spiders occupy undisturbed corners of buildings, sheds, garages, and sheltered outdoor spaces where flying and crawling insects are common. They build messy, three-dimensional cobwebs and wait for prey to become tangled before wrapping and biting it. Adults are generally shy around larger animals, relying on retreat, silk, and venom rather than open confrontation. Females are known for guarding rounded egg sacs within the web, a common sight in household corners.
