Blue Pansy
Junonia orithya

The blue pansy is a sun-loving butterfly of open grassland, scrub, gardens, and roadsides across much of South and Southeast Asia and nearby regions. Adults sip nectar from low flowers and often bask with wings spread, showing vivid blue patches bordered by conspicuous eyespots. Males are active, territorial fliers that patrol sunny patches and chase intruders. The wing underside is much duller, helping the butterfly blend into dry vegetation when resting.
