Bebbian's Leaf Beetle
Neochlamisus bebbianae
The adult is a small, rounded leaf beetle found on woody host plants where it feeds on leaves and seeks mates. Its hard elytra protect the flying wings folded beneath them. When threatened, it may cling tightly, drop from the plant, or rely on its mottled, warty body shape to avoid notice. Like other members of its genus, it has a compact body that can resemble bits of debris on a leaf surface.
