Moose
Alces alces
Moose are the largest members of the deer family, living in northern forests, wetlands, and lake edges across North America and Eurasia. They browse on willow, birch, aquatic plants, and other vegetation, often wading or swimming to reach food. Despite being herbivores, adults are formidable when threatened, using long legs, heavy hooves, and in males broad antlers during the rut. A notable fact is that moose can dive underwater to feed on submerged plants.
