Grey Wagtail
Motacilla cinerea

A slim, long-tailed songbird often found along fast-flowing streams, rivers, and wet woodland edges. It walks and runs over stones with constant tail-bobbing, picking small insects and larvae from the water’s edge and sometimes catching prey in short flights. Despite the name, breeding adults show bright yellow underparts and a grey back. Its unusually long tail helps make its bouncing movements especially noticeable among wagtails.
