Gold Dust Day Gecko
Phelsuma laticauda

A small, bright green day gecko of humid forests, gardens, and coconut groves in Madagascar and introduced Pacific islands. It moves quickly over trunks, leaves, and walls using adhesive toe pads, often basking by day before darting after tiny insects and spiders. It also laps nectar, pollen, and soft fruit, making it an occasional pollinator. The golden speckling on its neck and back gives the species its name, while a dropped tail can distract predators long enough for escape.
