Eurasian Skylark
Alauda arvensis

A small brown songbird of open farmland, grassland, heaths, and dunes, usually feeding and nesting on the ground. It eats seeds and green shoots through much of the year, switching heavily to insects and other small invertebrates during the breeding season. Males are famous for rising high into the air while delivering long, continuous songs that can carry over open country. Its streaked plumage helps it blend into short vegetation when threatened.
