White-point Moth
Mythimna albipuncta

The adult is a nocturnal moth found in grassy habitats, farmland edges, gardens, and open countryside. It feeds from flowers with a coiled proboscis and flies at night in search of nectar and mates. During the day it rests with cryptic brown forewings folded over the body, marked by the pale white point that gives the species its name. Adults are much more mobile than the earlier stages and rely mainly on flight to escape danger.
