Mangrove Tree Crab
Aratus pisonii

A small, agile crab of tropical mangrove forests, often found climbing trunks and branches above the tide line. It feeds heavily on mangrove leaves, algae, and detritus, while also taking small animal matter when available. When threatened, it scuttles around roots or drops toward the water to escape predators. Notably, this species spends much of its adult life in trees despite still depending on water for reproduction.
