Sagebrush Lizard
Sceloporus graciosus

A small, quick lizard of sagebrush flats, open woodlands, and rocky dry habitats in western North America. It feeds mainly on ants, beetles, flies, and other small arthropods, making short dashes from cover to seize prey. Its mottled gray-brown scales help it vanish against bark, stones, and dry soil. Males often perform push-up displays and show blue belly patches during territorial encounters.
