Gray Catbird
Dumetella carolinensis

The adult Gray Catbird lives in dense thickets, woodland edges, gardens, and shrubby wetlands across much of North America. It feeds on insects, spiders, berries, and small fruits, often foraging while partly hidden in vegetation. It is agile in short flights and defends nesting areas with sharp calls and close swoops. Its best-known trait is a catlike mewing call, along with a varied song that can include mimicry of other sounds.
