White-rumped Shama
Copsychus malabaricus

The adult White-rumped Shama lives in dense lowland and hill forests, secondary woodland, and bamboo thickets across South and Southeast Asia. It hunts insects, spiders, and small invertebrates among leaf litter and low branches, moving with agile hops and short flights. Males are strongly territorial and famous for long, melodious songs delivered from concealed perches. The bold white rump and long tail are flashed during movement, especially when the bird flicks or fans its tail while displaying.
