Javan Myna
Acridotheres javanicus
The adult Javan Myna is a bold starling of cities, plantations, fields, and open woodland, often nesting in cavities in trees or buildings. It walks and hops on the ground while feeding on insects, fruit, nectar, grains, and human food waste. Adults are glossy dark birds with white wing patches, a yellow bill, and bare yellow skin around the eyes. A notable fact is that the species thrives around people and has become invasive in several regions outside its native range.
