Tiger Barb Fry
Puntigrus tetrazona (fry)
Tiny free-swimming fry shelter among submerged plants in warm, slow freshwater at the edges of streams and flooded areas. They pick at microscopic algae, infusoria, and other minute drifting food. Their bold adult bars are not fully developed yet, so staying close to cover is their main defense. Rapid darting helps them avoid larger fish and aquatic insect larvae.
