Orchard Orbweaver
Leucauge venusta

The orchard orbweaver is a small, delicate spider found in orchards, gardens, woodland edges, and shrubby clearings across much of eastern North America. It builds slanted orb webs in vegetation and waits for small flies, gnats, and other insects to become trapped. Its slender green legs and silvery, patterned abdomen help it blend among leaves and reflected light. Like most spiders, it uses venom to subdue prey, but its bite is not considered dangerous to people.
