Green Lynx Spider
Peucetia viridans

Green lynx spiders live on shrubs, grasses, wildflowers, and crop plants, especially in warm parts of the southern United States, Mexico, and Central America. They do not rely on a capture web; instead they stalk or wait among green foliage before springing on insects. Their diet includes flies, moths, bees, wasps, and other small arthropods. A notable defensive trait is that females guard egg sacs fiercely and may squirt venom from the fangs when threatened.
