Mealworm Pupa
Tenebrio molitor (pupa)
A Mealworm Pupa rests in a sheltered spot within the same dry substrate used by the larva. It does not feed, instead using stored energy while its body reorganizes into the adult beetle form. Though mostly immobile, it can twitch its abdomen when disturbed, and its pale body gradually darkens as development continues.
