Diamondback Moth
Plutella xylostella

A tiny gray-brown moth that rests among low vegetation and crop plants, especially where brassicas grow. Adults are most active at dusk or night, flying in short, fluttering bursts to find mates and egg-laying sites. They sip small amounts of nectar, but their main role is reproduction rather than feeding heavily. When the wings are folded, pale markings can form a row of diamond shapes along the back.
