Buff-tailed Bumblebee Larva
Bombus terrestris (larva)
This pale, grub-like stage develops inside a wax brood cell in an underground or sheltered nest. It feeds on pollen and nectar supplied by adult workers, growing quickly through several molts. It has no wings and little mobility, relying on the nest chamber for protection. A notable feature is that its diet and care influence how fast it reaches pupation.
