Four-lined Plant Bug
Poecilocapsus lineatus
The adult is a small yellow-green true bug found on herbs, shrubs, and many ornamental plants across fields, gardens, and woodland borders. It pierces leaves and shoots with its beak to drink sap, producing the characteristic spotted plant damage associated with this species. Adults are quicker and fully winged, flying short distances between host plants when disturbed. The four dark lengthwise stripes on the forewings are the most notable field mark and give the insect its common name.
