Furrow Orb-Weaver
Larinioides cornutus

The adult furrow orb-weaver is commonly found around wetlands, stream edges, shrubs, fences, bridges, and buildings where flying insects are abundant. It spins a rounded orb web, usually hiding in a nearby retreat by day and hunting from the web at night. Its diet includes mosquitoes, moths, small flies, and other insects subdued with a venomous bite. The abdomen often shows a distinct pale furrow or leaf-like marking, helping distinguish it from many other orb-weavers.
